A very big thanks to Szeying for the above image and the info on the magazine. This is Tokyo Walker dated 23.08.2011 with a one page interview to promote his 27th single. Curious as to what he said? Thanks to Xiaoxin of MashaPlus, finally I can understand what he said!

Fukuyama Masaharu’s first single in 2011: as the name of the song “Let’s be family” suggests, the lyrics are very direct.  This is he first song about wedding.

The lyrics of the song are written from a woman’s perspective.   Nevertheless it was written from a man’s point of view at the beginning.   However I am still unmarried so I wasn’t able to write anything.  The deadline was coming soon so I had to try a different way.

If I wrote the song from a man’s point of view, there would be no way for me to “retreat”.  My insistence on “lyrics must reflect the truth” was also putting pressure to me.  So I thought if I wrote it from a woman’s perspective, at least I had an excuse that it was only my imagination.  Perhaps it was like seeing the whole thing from an opposite angle, I ended up writing something quite realistic.

In the lyrics, there is this statement:   “ let’s overcome any difficulty together.”   This reveals his desire for marriage.

If a woman says this to you, you would feel very happy, right?   If she treats you particularly well, biased towards you and tells you “you are more important to me than anyone else”, it would be much better than “you are just my no. 2 or no. 3” (laugh).

For the newly wedded couples who have already grasped their blessings, I hope this song would be played at many wedding receptions.

This song also features another theme – love in the family:

The idealistic family composes of 3 generations: grandpa, grandma, mum, dad and kids.   Kids who have upset their parents would run to the grandparents for help.  Although the whole extended family doesn’t have to live altogether, it would be nice if they live close by, though.

Translated from Midori's Chinese translation #9792
