Welcome to All About Fukuyama Masaharu, part lyrics blog, part fan site, 100% about Masha. It started out as a blog around April 2009 to repost all English lyrics, but after a while I got a bit ambitious and posting many other things I can gather from the net, some pictures, some articles, mostly news in English from the perspective of a fan although you can find some translated articles in here. I do not pretend to say I take credit for the text in here; frankly I just search, gather, summarise, reword and repost. I will always include the name of the fan who said whatever I posted to the best of my ability but as you can see, my sources are mostly from 2 main fan forums of Masha that is not in Japan. My problem is I can't read Japanese or Chinese, but my persistence sometimes does pay off when I just keep looking. You will also find some pictures in here, but all of the pictures you don't see in here are in Facebook, just look for All Abt Masha. I am quite active in that Facebook page, and it is also a place to find information! My main purpose for this blog is for myself; to gather all lyrics in English under one roof. But I am very sure foreign fans can also benefit from the contents in this blog, and without the many wonderful foreign Masha fans who translate, discuss and share whether privately or publicly, this blog will never be what it is today. I am still hoping to find more English lyrics somewhere, although from the looks of it, I will say things have slowed down a bit. Anyway, have a look. A fairly recent series that is 8 years ago circa 2003. The title is 美女か野獣 [Bijo ka Yajuu] which literally is Beauty Or Beast. Alternative title is Kiss? or Fight?. Frankly I am not sure who is the beauty and who is the beast. To me Masha's beauty can rival that of every female leads he has ever acted with. Anyway, I haven't seen this series except for one scene where Masha holds an interview with potential newscaster or reporter all dressed in bikini. He looked rather energetic! Seen it, loved it, wrote a review for it! I am happy to note the website where you can download this entire series WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES allows external linking so I am terribly happy, for once.

Synopsis
After graduating from the Tokyo University School of Law, Takamiya Makoto (Matsushima Nanako) goes on to Harvard University where she earns an MBA. She later works at one of the "big three" networks in the United States as a news reporter. While covering a story on an international symposium in Paris, Makoto is scouted to work for JBC Television in Japan. The news producer at JBC wants to use Makoto to help raise low viewer ratings. He persuades her to work for him for an absurdly high salary, and also gives her the right to hire who she needs. While Makoto is being brought in to be the savior of the News Department, one man gets transferred from the Variety Department. His name is Nagase Hiromi (Fukuyama Masaharu). Since joining JBC Television, all he has done is variety programs. Although Hiromi has done everything he possibly could to ensure his programs are a success, his boss just could not take anymore of Hiromi's behavior which ranged from getting caught up in scandals with female television personalities, punching-out assistant directors, to taking kickbacks from production companies. His boss finally tells Hiromi to make a fresh start in the "hard nosed" News Department. So now the News Department has Makoto who thinks high ratings are the meaning of life, and Hiromi who values the success of a program as just a tool for the full enjoyment of life. These two totally different personalities mix it up and somehow reach a mutual understanding, creating a delightful "light comedy" for adults.

Love the themesong and the opening sequence. Song according to Wiki is called The Galaxy And Maze (Ginga To Meiro) and is by TOKYO SKA PARADISE ORCHESTRA (what a name!). Unfortunately I can't find the English translated lyrics but I did find the romaji lyrics. Read all here.

A great big thanks to the uploader who ripped this series from TV (tellingly MediaCorp, Singapore, hence the English subtitles) who at first uploaded it as a torrent. However that torrent is dead now and thank you to someone who uploaded it elsewhere so it can be downloaded and enjoyed by all. I must stress, the quality if awful, kinda like a really bad copy of VCD version but who cares?! It is subtitled! Yeah! And if you're not fussy, the quality is somewhat ok, at least the audio is ok. Actually the audio is a bit muted but still can hear. You can even choose between Rapidshire or Megaupload! Those who couldn't access Megaupload please use Hotspot Shield. A comment on the subtitles
The subtitles is hardcoded and as ripped from TV and it was broadcast in Singapore by Mediacorp. Every episode's beginning bears a not very intrusive watermark by the encoder which is ok with me since it is warning you not to pay for this free video. However the subtitles themeselves, I wonder how accurate are they? For most part the dialogue seems ordinary, as in no problem apart from Takamiya became Tamiya. Sakamoto became if I am not mistaken Inamoto. Some name problems. However one line perplexed me that is "Please show me some respect" which was originally "Yamete Kudasai" which I thought is "No, please" or "Please, no". I suppose liberties are taken with certain meaning but at least it is understandable with good grammer even if some names are quite plainly wrong. However I am just very happy there is even an English version for this one. At least I understand the story! If only Perfect Love has the same treatment!
A comment on the video quality
Bad, no doubt about that. Some part in every episode will slow down a bit and then recover. But it is NOT THAT BAD on a smaller screen. You can judge for yourself looking at the screencaptures.
How to download & extract
You can download one part from rapidshire and the other from megaupload if you want it that way. Just make sure both parts are in the same folder and do not rename the files. Click part 1 file, extract the rar contents. The extraction process will extract the entire episode so you won't need to extract again part 2. Just extract part 1 is enough. Since the 2 parts will automatically join, you don't need to use any programs to join them. Once extracted you should see one single video file. You don't need any password to extract all the episodes EXCEPT FOR the last episode as noted below.
How to download faster
Megaupload is interestingly slower than rapidshire. So for faster download, download the 1st part which is the bigger part from Rapidshire and the 2nd part which is the smaller part from Megaupload. Should finish around the same time. But as rapidshire has a download limit, once you hit that limit, well switch; download the bigger part from megaupload and when ban lifted, download the smaller part from rapidshire. Taking into consideration the ban and all, you should finish is about 3 to 4 days. Just so you know megaupload supports download managers and the resume function so if your connection is always disconnected, you might consider downloading the bigger file from Megaupload. However too many stop and start will in the end mean the resume function will stop functioning.
