Welcome to All About Fukuyama Masaharu, part lyrics blog, part fan site, 100% about Masha. It started out as a blog around April 2009 to repost all English lyrics, but after a while I got a bit ambitious and posting many other things I can gather from the net, some pictures, some articles, mostly news in English from the perspective of a fan although you can find some translated articles in here. I do not pretend to say I take credit for the text in here; frankly I just search, gather, summarise, reword and repost. I will always include the name of the fan who said whatever I posted to the best of my ability but as you can see, my sources are mostly from 2 main fan forums of Masha that is not in Japan. My problem is I can't read Japanese or Chinese, but my persistence sometimes does pay off when I just keep looking. You will also find some pictures in here, but all of the pictures you don't see in here are in Facebook, just look for All Abt Masha. I am quite active in that Facebook page, and it is also a place to find information! My main purpose for this blog is for myself; to gather all lyrics in English under one roof. But I am very sure foreign fans can also benefit from the contents in this blog, and without the many wonderful foreign Masha fans who translate, discuss and share whether privately or publicly, this blog will never be what it is today. I am still hoping to find more English lyrics somewhere, although from the looks of it, I will say things have slowed down a bit. Anyway, have a look. BROS magazine is published and sent out to members of Masha's official fanclub in Japan called BROS. Anyway in each issue there is a message by Masha to his fans, and not just a line or two but a few paragraphs, like a letter from a friend updating his friends. All in Japanese but thankfully someone did go around to translating them to Chinese who went around translating to English. It is an interesting read as he often touched on what he is doing, what he will be doing and he gets a bit reflective sometimes which is a tiny crack into the window to his soul, as every fan would like to know I am sure. WHAT IS BROS MAGAZINE
I think of it as a newsletter, published about 4 times a year, as a way to update the members of his activities. If I am not mistaken, his management company, AMUSE handles his fanclub.
There appears to be no fixed release date, but we are advised on BROS site when it is mailed out, generally around March / June / Sept / Dec. It's a full printed magazine with full reports and lots of photos (behind-the scene).
Try and think of what you can remember for the first 3 months of this year and there will be behind-the-scene reports for it. The latest issue spans the Kouhaku, Studio Park, his birthday celebrations arranged for him at various places (Ryomaden set, radio station), various TV shows and CM shoots, noteworthy interviews, exclusive Ryomaden news, etc. Hatsukoi was released during the previous issue, so we had reports of the filming of the PV. We saw the funny photos and anecdotes that happened in each stop of the Michishirube Tour. You get the drift. In each of the recent issues, there are photos submitted by fans and a very funny cartoon drawn by his good friend Lily Franky.
This time, there is also a joint interview with him and BEGIN.
The recent issues are mostly work-related. In the past, they talked about his Crazy Horse touring activities. This is the name of his motorcycle touring group, they went all over....Hawaii, Sweden, Hokkaido etc. This is for leisure, not work-related. He's basically been riding the motorcycle from his teens. You may have seen some funny photos online which came from his travels. In fact most of the funny photos available on him came from BROS, but for me, the behind-the-scenes are the best ones.
HOW DOES BROS MAGAZINE LOOK LIKE
You will find some scans of Issue #86 here with the cover and some of the contents inside, which is the BEGIN and Masha joint interview celebrating the 20 years debut of both artistes. Find post #370. Please do not repost the images itself elsewhere, which is why I am not and could not repost here. But it is still there.
WHO WRITES BROS MAGAZINE
BROS magazine is basically written by his staff, but there will always be a personal report written by himself - "Domo, Fukuyama desu" (Hi! This is Fukuyama), where he talks about his personal feelings, like a diary to his fans. Sometimes, as you can see from the translations, he talks about how he writes his music and the influences he had. Certain captions are in his handwriting.
HOW LONG HAS BROS MAGAZINE BEEN IN PRINT
The magazine itself has evolved over time. If you go to the auctions site, you'll find pictures of the old ones. Count #86 issues quarterly issues.....that's 20 years. They were in the form of a newspaper at the beginning and I'm not sure if at any point they were bi-monthly or so.

Or translated as "Hi, This Is Fukuyama". Not all of his messages to fans are translated. His messages are long and some may seem mundane or petty, but these are insights into his thought processes. Sometimes his messages can be very revealing on his private life and so they're wonderful read for old and new fans alike, whether those who knows him or those who wishes to know him more.
