Welcome to All About Fukuyama Masaharu, part lyrics blog, part fan site, 100% about Masha. It started out as a blog around April 2009 to repost all English lyrics, but after a while I got a bit ambitious and posting many other things I can gather from the net, some pictures, some articles, mostly news in English from the perspective of a fan although you can find some translated articles in here. I do not pretend to say I take credit for the text in here; frankly I just search, gather, summarise, reword and repost. I will always include the name of the fan who said whatever I posted to the best of my ability but as you can see, my sources are mostly from 2 main fan forums of Masha that is not in Japan. My problem is I can't read Japanese or Chinese, but my persistence sometimes does pay off when I just keep looking. You will also find some pictures in here, but all of the pictures you don't see in here are in Facebook, just look for All Abt Masha. I am quite active in that Facebook page, and it is also a place to find information! My main purpose for this blog is for myself; to gather all lyrics in English under one roof. But I am very sure foreign fans can also benefit from the contents in this blog, and without the many wonderful foreign Masha fans who translate, discuss and share whether privately or publicly, this blog will never be what it is today. I am still hoping to find more English lyrics somewhere, although from the looks of it, I will say things have slowed down a bit. Anyway, have a look. We all know by now most songs in THE BEST BANG!! album has been rearranged either with new guitar or instrumental play, remastered or some keen eared fans say, new vocals (although I am not sure which one). However you may wonder why some songs made the cut and others disappointingly didn't? And why the album seem more like Best Hits album rather than Masha's own BEST BANG so to speak? That is to say is this a collection of best hits of 20 years of Masha's very active career or should it have been a collection of Masha's own personal favourites out of 20 years worth of musical catalogue?
Well thanks to Izumisano for the answer as by Masha himself;
First I had to decide which songs to include. If I selected them all by myself, I felt it would end up being a list of my personal preferences (laugh). So I asked all my staff. And the replies were "songs that people know well". I guess that means the hits. [BROS Magazine Issue #88]
I am disappointed he had so little faith in his fans. Like I said in my reply at the forums, "Your fans will appreciate whatever is your preference, after all all fan favourites can be found in other albums. What we want is YOUR favourite"
Anyhow, it is still an admirable list of songs aka greatest hits. 20 years... that's a lot to show for. Moreover THE BEST BANG!! is selling really really well. I won't bore you with the statistics since I am not following it myself but from what I heard, it is on its way to be one of Masha's best selling album.
