[IMPORTANT] A very important notice from Team Fukuyama

2 comments Post a Comment
This is very important and more so for members of BROS who are selling tickets they obtained through lotteries and to those who are considering or have purchased such tickets. Thanks to Izumisano for the translation;

Special Note:

- All resale and transfers of tickets purchased through this lottery are forbidden. If discovered, the said tickets will be void, ticket holders will be asked to leave the venue and all future ticket issues (for that member) will be cancelled.

- We have found a number of priority draw tickets for the 2010 Daikanshasai being sold at resale sites and auctions. The extent of illegitimate resale activities has increased greatly. Our stance is, with the huge increase in BROS members and the restrictions in capacity of the venues, it is impossible for every BROS member to be given the shows they want. We regret to see BROS members paying extraordinarily high prices for tickets at the auctions. Fukuyama himself and his staff are very concerned and pained to see this. This matter is becoming very serious and must be stopped. Any BROS members found to be selling tickets will be subject to increasing levels of penalty (removal from venue, immediate cessation of membership, loss of priority in future draws etc.)

~ From Team Fukuyama

Anyone who has read the T&C of BROS will know members can't resell such tickets. However they have never checked, probably due to logistics. But since this year's Daikanshasai seems to be selling for many times over the original price, they may do selective checking. The above did not spell out what about those who bought the tickets. I think they will honour those tickets and I hope they will since the fault lies with the seller, not the buyer. Normally a BROS member must be with the 2nd ticket holder. But most of these are strangers to one another. I hope Team Fukuyama will consider the rights of those who are not BROS members but paid such hefty sums just to see his concert. Or maybe allow for resale but in normal price.

Do think carefully before buying. And this advice applies for myself too. Sigh ...

Just a bit more of the background to hopefully give a clearer picture:

As I mentioned in the Jpopmusic forums, this is not a new message. There are reminders in almost every BROS magazine for the past (many) years and experienced members have said that they are used to it.

There has not been any talk of checking the tickets this time either. It was only in the 2009 Inasayama Concerts that I saw them warn of a possibility, but they didn't do it in the end.

This situation is commonly seen nationwide and is not limited to Fukuyama's concerts. Nevertheless, we could see that they're more concerned this time, because of the excessively high demand for seats in the 2010 daikanshasai. This warning is a loosely translated extract from a 1-page notice in the Ticket Lottery guidelines for the 2011 Tour.

In a nutshell, the easiest way of getting concert tickets is - to become a BROS fanclub member and join the ticket lottery (in addition to the normal FC privileges). Not everyone will win, but there's a very good chance espcially for the tours.

Thanks Izumi for the explanation.

So do be careful everyone. Logistically impossible to check. Also unfair to actual buyers and those who received tickets from friends as gifts. I suppose if AMUSE really want to do this, they can always focus on those tickets sold in auction sites but those who deal with cash will not be caught by this.

For me if stringent rules apply, this will affect even ordinary concert goers who got the tickets through friends who won through lottery. Implementation will be difficult unless AMUSE has the manpower to check into every auction sites. If they have such manpower, why not just dedicate a few to operating the International fanclub division, which doesn't exist by the way.
